About

Join my adventures of tasting, learning and having fun with food, nutrition, healthy living and just plain life. I’m a nutri-foodie at heart with a zest for life ready to diary my journey (when time permits).

I have a B.Sc. (Hon) in Nutritional & Nutraceutical Sciences with a specialization in Biomedical Sciences (pre-med)as well as all my dietetic courses. I also am one of the lucky ones in Ontario to be a registered Professional Home Economist (P.H.Ec.) – think all things to do with Home & “Family” life (traditional and not-so-traditional!).

A Niagara native, my life path has been a winding road and allowed me the opportunities to work for Agriculture & AgriFood Canada , OMAFRA, Agricorp, and currently ‘NSTEP – a national nutrition education charity.

I’ve helped to run and fund student snack programs, competed in a pseudo-Dragon’s Den (article in the London Free Press) and presented to several groups on nutrition and health. I was a speaker for the Ontario Snack Program Conference as well as a Metro Green Apple Grant recipient for a program I designed.  I am a huge supporter of healthy fundraisers and incentives – just ask me all my ideas.

So come along with me on a honest and humorous glimpse into my “walk the talk” life to get inspired and informed on food, while having fun and laughs!

  1. Because of your interest in both food and farming, I thought you might like to check out my new novel, Wildwood. It’s about a single woman from the city who inherits an abandoned farmhouse in Canada’s northernmost agricultural community, near Peace River, Alberta. She must learn the pioneer arts to survive in her off-the-grid farmhouse, including teaching herself to bake i a wood stove using the Five Roses Cook Book. There is a lot of history in the novel about the first homesteaders and how they survived. You can read about me and my books on my website. Thanks so much, and keep up the good work.
